About OfflineTranscriber: Offline Transcription Tool
OfflineTranscriber is a local-first, browser-based AI transcription tool for turning audio and video into readable transcripts. It is built for people who want AI transcription software without sending raw recordings to a cloud transcription API.
Audio and video are decoded and transcribed in the browser runtime.
The app is designed not to post your original recording to our transcription API.
Work with transcripts, captions, and exports from one browser-based workspace.
What OfflineTranscriber Is
OfflineTranscriber is an offline transcription tool and AI transcription workspace. It uses browser-based transcription to help turn interviews, lectures, meetings, voice notes, podcasts, webinars, and video recordings into text while keeping the transcription workflow tied to your device.
Why It Exists
Many transcription products depend on uploading recordings to remote servers before processing begins. OfflineTranscriber exists for work where that model is not a good fit: private interviews, internal recordings, sensitive notes, draft media, or any workflow where keeping source media local matters.
What Makes It Different
OfflineTranscriber is not a traditional file converter. The core product is a privacy-first transcription tool: a local transcription workflow for creating transcripts and subtitle files from media, not a generic format conversion service.
Transcription runs through the browser workflow instead of a provider-side upload queue.
Your original audio or video is not sent to OfflineTranscriber as a transcription payload.
The transcription engine runs in the browser environment, with performance depending on your device and browser.
Who It Is For
Work with interview recordings and field notes while keeping source media local.
Draft captions, notes, and transcripts for audio or video projects.
Test browser-based transcription workflows without building a transcription pipeline from scratch.
Transcribe internal recordings where upload-based tools are not a good fit.
Trust & Transparency
The privacy boundary is specific: your raw audio or video file is processed in the browser workflow and is not uploaded to OfflineTranscriber as a transcription payload. The site may still use network requests for app assets, scripts, model downloads, licensing, payments, analytics, and support workflows.
You can verify the no upload workflow with browser DevTools. During transcription, network activity should show requests for assets, model files, or account features, but not the original media file being posted to an OfflineTranscriber transcription endpoint.
